REVIEWS
"an exceptionally well-acted production that opened Friday night under Leda Hoffmann’s direction.  Alternately funny and poignant, it’s another welcome reminder that late Williams deserves much more attention."

"Williams continually suggested in his late plays that one has to laugh at life’s sorrow; as Dorothea rightly observes just before curtain, “we must pull ourselves together and go on.”  Williams certainly did, writing to the end and resulting in a moving play like “Creve Coeur” — reminding us anew that Williams’ gallery of women were never losers.  Like Williams himself, they were survivors."

"These four women are guided down both individual and common paths under the delicate touch of director Leda Hoffmann. The one thing this play needs is a special sense of clarity for each character. It only works with four distinct personalities that cross only briefly. And Hoffmann makes that happen."

"This play may be one that is rarely seen, but the production at Chamber makes it both valuable and vital."
