"Hoffmann is becoming a sizzling director, and with Staples, haunting music by Victoria Deiorio and story-telling lighting by Jason Fassl, this is a production that will live with you for a long time."

"both the costuming and the structure of "Amish" — requiring that Staples repeatedly and often quickly return to all seven characters, jumbled together rather than separated out — emphasizes what we share.
So does Courtney O'Neill's ingenious and spare set design. In featuring the lightly dressed skeletal structure of a one-room Amish school, O'Neill's design tears down separating walls. Meanwhile, the Stiemke Studio's two separated audience sections have been reconfigured and tilted inward, encouraging us to look at each other as well as the stage.
Under Leda Hoffmann's direction, the resulting intimacy enables Staples to subtly distinguish her characters without losing sight of what binds them together."
